Description	:	Clara Leona Kester, 99, of Eureka died Monday, July 19,1993 at the Greenwood County Hospital. She was born December 19, 1893 in rural Greenwood County, the daughter of John J. and Effie (Johnson) Whitehead. She was raised in southeast Greenwood County, where she attended District 64 Grade School. On July 4, 1911, she was united in marriage to Francis Lee Fagen at the family's home northwest of Fall River. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1915. She was born December 19, 1893 in rural Greenwood County, the daughter of John J. and Effie (Johnson) Whitehead. She was raised in southeast Greenwood County, where she attended District 64 Grade School. On July 4, 1911, she was united in marriage to Francis Lee Fagen at the family's home northwest of Fall River. He preceded her in death on July 13, 1915. To this union two sons were born, John James Fagen, who died at birth, and Richard Fagen who preceded her, July 26, 1982. She was married to Jess Kester at Eureka on November 1, 1917. The made their home in Eureka since 1920. Jess preceded her in death on September 22, 1973. She was a homemaker and attended the Christian and Congregational Church, She was a memeber of the Eastwood Rebekah Lodge and the V.F.W. Auxiliary. She is survived by a nephew, Dave Kester of Topeka and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, sons, five brothers and three sisters. Funeral services will be held at Campbell-Kelley Funeral Home on Thursday, July 22, 1993 at 11 A.M., with Dr. Gilbert Daniels, pastor of the Christian and Congregational Church officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. A memorial has been established in her name with the Eureka Senior Center. Contributions may be left at the Senior Center or the funeral home.
