Hodapp was born December 30, 1901 at Portsmouth, Iowa to Clara Thielen and Peter Pauley and died at her home in Harlan, Iowa December 31, 1958 from a heart attack at the age of 57 years and one day. She attended school at St. Mary's School in Panama, Iowa. On February 10, 1920 she was united in marriage to George A. Hodapp at Westphalia, Iowa and to this union ten children were born. Survivors include her husband George, seven sons; Sylvester of Phoenix, Arizona, Franklin of Norfolk, Virginia, Donald of Van Nuys, California, LaVerne of Washington, D.C., Ralph of Denison, Iowa, Ronald of Pasadena, California and Dennis of Valdosta, Georgia; three daughters; Mrs. Morris Price (Thelma) of Bremerton, Washington, Sister M. Immacula O.S.F. of Randolph, Nebraska and Sister M. Jeanelle O.S.F. of Kankakee, Illinois; three brothers, Ted, Carl and Joseph Pauley; four sisters, Mrs. John Katzar of Defiance, Iowa, Mrs. Steve Sandbothe and Mrs. Chris Blum of Panama, Iowa and Mrs. Joe Sandbothe of Woodbine, Iowa; 11 grandchildren and her mother, Mrs. Clara Pauley. Funeral services were held January 5 1959 in St. Michael's church in Harlan with Rev. Leo Gannon officiating. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery.
