Description	:	Born in Panama, Iowa on September 1, 1924. Died peacefully in his sleep on August 2, 2011 Don enlisted in the army at the age of 18 serving in World War II receiving the Purple Heart when he was wounded at Anzio beach. He was active as a Commander and Treasurer in the VFW (Veteran's of Foreign Wars). After discharged from military service, he was employed by Chrysler dealerships in southern California for over 45 years. He retired in 1986 and he and his wife, Frances, moved to Citrus Heights in 1988 to be close to his family. In earlier years, he was a member of St. Bridget of Sweden Church in Van Nuys, CA. where he served as Holy Name Society president, and was also an usher. More recently, he was a member of Holy Family and St. Mel's Churches here in northern California. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Frances of Citrus Heights; daughter and son-in-law Monica and Joe McConologue(Citrus Heights); Son and Daughter-in-law Michael and Deborah (Cape Coral, Florida); grand-daughter and husband Kelly and Dale Paolucci (Granite Bay); gran-daughter Megan Hodapp (Roseville); great grand-daughters Haley and Ashley Paolucci (Granite Bay); nieces and nephews Pam, Ron, and Rick Hodapp and their families (Lincoln and Roseville); as well as many other nieces and nephews across the country. Of his 6 brothers and 3 sisters, Don is pre-deceased by a brother Frank and a sister Jan. He is survived by brothers; Ron and Margaret (Lincoln); Wes (Lubbock, TX); Denny and Carolyn (Lubbock, TX); Ralph and Gerri (Raytown, MO); Vern and Shirley( Centerville, VA); and sisters Mary and Joe (Kansas City, MO); Benita (Denver, CO). Also brother-in-law Harry Wills and family in So. Carolina and relatives in Alabama. We love you very much. We will miss you and you will be forever in our hearts. You were a great example to all of us. You excelled at being the best husband, brother, dad grandpa, great grandpa, son, uncle, and friend. Thanks for all the wonderful and loving memories.
