Kregel Believed to Have Been One of Oldest Living Natives of City Mrs. Clara M. Kregel, 73, wife of George F. Kregel, died at the family home, 1902 Central avenue, Wednesday morning at 3:45 o'clock following an illness of little more than a year. Death was the result of a stroke of paralysis. Mrs. Kregel is believed to have been one of the oldest native born women in Otoe county at the time of her death. Mrs. Kregel was born in Nebraska City, December 22, 1857, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Petring, pioneers of Nebraska. She was educated in the schools of this city and was married to George F. Kregel January 7, 1884. She was for more than a half century a member of the First Lutheran church and up until a few years ago was active in church work. She was well known and popular in Nebraska City where she spent her entire life and had endeared herself to her friends through her many acts of kindness. She is survived by her husband and the following children: Robert Kregel, Donald Kregel, Miss Ella Kregel, Mark G. Kregel and Arthur Kregel, all residents of Nebraska City except Mark Kregel, who resides at Gilmer, Texas. Other relatives surviving are four sisters, Mrs. L. M. Mohrman, Mrs. G. L. Stevenson, Mrs. T. M. McClimans and Mrs. O. A. Kimmel, all of this city, and three grandchildren, Anna May, Mary Jane and Clara Louise Kregel.
