Description	:	Clara T. Hanzel, 88, of Humphrey, died Friday, Nov. 18, 2011, at Countryside Home in Madison. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Tarnov with the Rev. Rodney Kneifel officiating. Burial will be at St. Michael's Cemetery in Tarnov. Services will be 5-8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. scripture service, and 9-10 a.m. Monday, all at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Mrs. Hanzel was born Feb. 18, 1923, in Duncan to Peter Zywiec and Barbara Dush. She attended Duncan Public School. She married Francis C. Hanzel on Oct. 23, 1946, at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. They lived near Krakow and spent the past 65 years on the family farm west of Tarnov. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband. She enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, flowers and working crossword puzzles. She was a member of St. Ann's Alter Society and was an active member of St. Michael's parish. Survivors include daughters, Christine (Gary) Bender, of Cornlea, and Lucille Mitchell, of Lincoln; son, Lawrence (Sue) Hanzel, of Humphrey; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Patsy Kava and Theresa Prososki, both of Silver Creek; and brothers, Aloise (Donna) Zywiec, of Silver Creek and Gene (Dee) Zywiec, of Omaha. She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, John Konwinski; husband, Francis; sisters, Mary Borowiak, Elaine Kurek, Elsie Prososki and Irene Stuczynski; brothers, Lonnie, Pete, Ray and Edward; and son-in-law, Ted Michell. Duesman Funeral Chapel in Humphrey is in charge of arrangements.
