Traeder song "Ivory Palaces" and "Sometime We'll Understand.: Minnie Kessler accompanied at the piano. Pallbearers were Harold Hess, Guy Thayer Jr., Harry Kessler, Elmer Lingquiest, Willard Rraasch and Fred Traver. Burial was made in the family plot in the Odebolt cemetery. Clarence Henry Ahrenholtz, son of George and Catherine Ahrenholtz, was born at Defiance, Iowa, Feb. 1, 1898, and died at 2:15 Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 11, 1939, aged 40 years, 11 months and 11 days. He moved to Odebolt with his parents, sister and brother when a child of three years, and has lived around Odebolt since that time. He was baptized in the Evangelical church in Defiance and later attended Sunday school and church in the Richland and Odebolt Methodist churches. He attended school in the Cook township schools and has since been associated with his father in farming. Twelve years ago, his health began to fail, and it was found he was afflicted with diabetes. Although he wasn't well, he always seemed quite strong. He was a hard working man, kindhearted and honest and desirous of doing the right thing at all times. He had been taken to St. Anthony's hospital at Carroll for treatment for pneumonia, which was clearing up nicely but he passed away suddenly last Wednesday. The immediate cause of his death was embolism. His mother and sister Kathleen preceded him in death. He is survived by his father George Ahrenholtz; two brothers, Harold and Kenneth; and five sisters, namely, Mabel (Mrs. George Stoneberg), Mae (Mrs. Clifford Miller), Evelyn (Mrs. Eugene Longnecker), Florence (Mrs. Henry Girardin), all of Odebolt; and Fern (Mrs. Charles Girardin), of Storm Lake; also his grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Nagel.
