Obituary From Ottumwa Daily Courier, Saturday, June 5, 1943, Page 8: Clarence Williams, Railroader, Is Dead Clarence Williams 59, veteran employe of the Burlington railroad, died at 11:40 p.m. Friday at his home, 106 Epps street, after an extended illness. He was born at Unionville, Mo., October 1, 1883, the son of Charles and Pasa [sic] Williams, and moved to Ottumwa in 1915. He had worked for the Burlington since 1922. However, he had been in poor health since sustaining an injury in 1942. He married Eva Sisco in April of 1922. She preceded him in death December 12, 1941. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. LaRue Scanlon, Moline, Ill., Mrs. Mildred Archibald and Mrs. Pearl Hill, both of Long Beach, Calif., and Mrs. Delpha McGee, Burlington; two sons, Lloyd Williams, Long Beach, Calif., and Carl Williams, Portland, Ore.; two stepsons, Estel Sisco, Ottumwa, and Waldo Sisco, stationed at the naval air base here; four sisters, Mrs. Mayme [sic] Gillispie, Moulton, Mrs. Nora Bailey, Centerville, and Mrs. Ora Zeigler and Mrs. Edith Paris, both of Ottumwa; three brothers, Dolfis and John Williams, both of Bloomfield, and Ralph Williams, Ottumwa; six grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. A sister, Nellie Shepherd, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Carroll Reece funeral home, conducted by the Rev. Harold Roberts. Burial will be in McCormick cemetery near Highland Center.
