Description	:	Last rites were held at the Nashua Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Tuesday for Lyle C. Thomas, 61, who died at his farm home south of town Monday, May 10, after a two years' illness. Rev. H. L. Bryant, pastor of Plainfield Methodist Church, officiated. Music was provided by Mrs. C. A. Hoon, and Mrs. Oscar Wagner, with Shirley Bond as the accompanist. Page 1 _________________________________________________ Clarence Carlyle Thomas, known to all his friends as "Lyle", was born on a farm south of Nashua, Iowa on Nov. 13, 1892. He passed away May 10 at his home after a desperate and lingering illness of several years. His parents were Clarence and Abbie (Tracy) Thomas. After the death of his mother when he was two years old, Lyle lived some years with his father's sister, Mrs. Martha Robinson. At about the age of 12, he moved with his father's family to Royal, Nebr., returning to Nashua in 1912. In December of 1914, he was married to Miss Clara Ernwine. One son, Dean, who died in 1937 at the age of 10, was born to this union. His entire married life was spent on farms, first west of Nashua, and since 1937 on his own place to the south on Highway 218. In recent years, part of the time was spent in traveling, which he always enjoyed as far as his health would permit. His wife, Clara, survives, as do three sisters: Mrs. Blanche Lingenfelter of Plainfield, Nebr.; Mrs. Edna Johnson of Royal, Nebr.; and Mrs. Harold Piersol, of near Nashua; and two brothers: Miles of Royal, Nebr., and Ben of Phoenix, Ariz.
