Description	:	Clarence DeBoer, son of John and Johanna (Kleinheksel) DeBoer, was born March 30, 1920 in Hamlin County, South Dakota. He grew up and received his education in Deuel County and served in the United States Army from August 19, 1942 until October 11, 1945. He was united in marriage to Mae Norman on November 27, 1942 in Neosho, Missouri. After his discharge they returned to the Estelline area and farmed from 1946 until retiring and moving into Estelline in 1976. Clarence and Mae were foster parents for over 17 years. He grew up and received his education in Deuel County and served in the United States Army from August 19, 1942 until October 11, 1945. He was united in marriage to Mae Norman on November 27, 1942 in Neosho, Missouri. After his discharge they returned to the Estelline area and farmed from 1946 until retiring and moving into Estelline in 1976. Clarence and Mae were foster parents for over 17 years. He died on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Estelline Nursing and Care Center at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 18 days. He was a member of Hamlin Reformed Church, the American Legion Post # 250 in Castlewood and the Hamlin County Sportsman Club where he served as president for 20 years. He enjoyed sports, hunting and fishing. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife Mae of Estelline; two daughters, Darlene Ludwig and her husband Leonard of Bruce, SD, Deb Brandsrud and her husband Wade of Estelline; one son, Ricky DeBoer and his wife Gengi of Maui, HI; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Wilbur "Bud" DeBoer and his wife Phyllis of Estelline, John DeBoer and his wife Irene of Clear Lake, SD; one sister, Dorothy Sikkink of Castlewood, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
