Description	:	Clarence DeVore, 80, of 320 W. Kildare Ave., died 11:45 p.m. Friday in St. Rita's Hospital after an extended illness. Born July 21, 1892, in Wapakoneta, he was the son of William and Eliza Bainer DeVore. He was married to Mary Kayser and she survives at home. Mr. DeVore was retired from the Lima Ordnance Depot and a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. He was also an Army veteran of World War I and a member of the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was married to Mary Kayser and she survives at home. Mr. DeVore was retired from the Lima Ordnance Depot and a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn (Rose Ann) Weber, 1403 Latham; and Mrs. Vernon (Mary Lou) Sunderland, 1380 Latham; two sons, Leroy of Dayton and Robert, at home; 8 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Emma) Hains, 404 Glenwood, and Mrs. Ethal Van Siewgan, Long Beach, Calif. One son, Clarence, died in 1970. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church with Rev. William Geiger officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery. Friends may call at Hogenkamp-Murphy Funeral Home anytime today and Monday. Men of the parish will recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Monday. (published in The Lima News, Sunday, March 11, 1973, page 4)
