Visitation is from 11 a.m.,Wednesday, Sept. 9, at Chaney Waiters Funeral Home chapel.Rev. John Roberts is officiating the 10 a.m. service Thursday, Sept. 10,1992, at First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336 will conduct graveside services. Mr. Monroe started Tex's Engineering Co. in the early 1960s, later known as Tex's Pumping and Roustabout Service. He married Dorothy L. Clark Arnold in October of 1973. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Sterling BPO Elks Lodge No. 1336 and the Iliff Lions Club. He is survived by four daughters, Mary Ann Monroe of San Diego, Calif.; Barbara and husband Emil Mateus of San Diego; Sheryl and husband Mike Ortiz of Littleton; and Gayle and husband Ray Unrein of Sterling; one son, Jerry and wife Becky Arnold of Sterling; two brothers, Rex of Arvada and Tom of Greeley; two sisters, Vera Bunning and Wilma Davis, both of Sterling; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy on Feb. 7, 1992, and sister Gladys Bunning. Memorial contributions: Elks Scholarship Fund in memory of Tex Monroe, do the Elks Lodge.
