Description	:	Clarence E. Sanders, 88, Millfield, died early Thursday morning at the home of a son, Charles W. Sanders, Millfield. Mr. Sanders had served as a postmaster, a Justice of the Peace, a member of the Chauncey – Dover school board for 12 years, a Dover Township trustee for 20 years and a notary public for 50 years. He formally worked as a railroad telegraph operator at the Grosvenor crossing of the B&O and C&O railroads, and owned and operated a theater in Millfield for a number of years. Mr. Sanders had served as a postmaster, a Justice of the Peace, a member of the Chauncey – Dover school board for 12 years, a Dover Township trustee for 20 years and a notary public for 50 years. He formally worked as a railroad telegraph operator at the Grosvenor crossing of the B&O and C&O railroads, and owned and operated a theater in Millfield for a number of years. Surviving are two sons, Lewis E. Sanders and Charles W. Sanders, both of Millfield, eight grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. His wife, Bertha, died in October, 1965. A son, Dr. C. N. Sanders and a granddaughter, Marilyn, preceded him in death. He was born in Millfield, the son of the late Charles and Sarah Sanders. He was the last survivor of a family of nine sons. Funeral services will be at 1:30 PM Sunday at the Millfield Christian Church with the Rev. Paul Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Hilltop Cemetery. The Warren funeral home, Nelsonville, is in charge of funeral arrangements. Friends may call after 4 PM Friday at the Charles W. Sanders home, Millfield. - Athens Messenger, June 16, 1966.
