Read More	Article from the Thursday, February 17, 1927 Lancaster Daily Gazette LOCAL BOY IS KILLED IN ACCIDENT Clarence Bartles Had Been With Lancaster Company Clarence Bartles, aged 22, of this city, died in a hospital yesterday in Pittsburgh, where he was taken after being crushed in an accident at the Creighton plant of the Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co. The young man was the only son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Bartles of 415 Locust St. He is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Mary Elinger and Mrs. Agnes Kinney. Until a fortnight or so ago he was employed here in the Lancaster Tire and Rubber Co. He left for Pittsburgh and obtained employment in the glass factory named above. Yesterday Mr. Henry Bartles who is a fireman in the Excelsor Laundry, received a telegram saying that his son had been severely crushed and burned in a factory accident. Mr. and Mr. Bartles immediately left for Pittsburgh in the auto of Mr William Shonk, a neighbor who offered to drive them to their son. News of the young man's death arrived after the parents had left.
