He was an active lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin. He died Feb. 7, 1993, at his Irwin home, at age 90 years, one month, and 22 days. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, Jessie and Clifford; and one sister, Alva Olson. Survivors include his wife, Elise of Irwin; one son, Henry (Anna Marie) Olson of Irwin; two grandsons, Henry I. Olson of Omaha; and Paul C. Olson of Ames; one brother, Elmer of Newell; four sisters, Tina (Virgil) Reid, Lucille (Dyrl) McCord, and Dorothy (Edward) Plambeck, all of Co. Bluffs and Lillie (Gilbert) Opperman of Underwood. Funeral services were held Feb. 9, 1993, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin, with Rev. Douglas Mathison, officiating. Active casketbearers were Paul Edmondson, Gary Hanson, Bob Burton, Jack Knudson, Cyrus Monson, and Dan Holloway, Honorary casketbearers were Gailard Knudson. Kenneth Knudson, Gilbert Hanson, Clifford Axland, Carl Johnson, Joe Daeges, Norman Wiig, John Villegas, Raynard Schmitz, and Lynn Gaskill. Burial was in the Danway cemetery, rural Shelby county. Burmeister Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. . .
