She attended school in Etne, Norway, She came to the United States in Sept. 1928 and worked as a housekeeper. March 30, 1932 she married Clarence Olson at the St. Paul's Parsonage in Irwin. Olson, daughter of Torkel and Hannah (Hansen) Hamre, was born Oct 26, 1905 in Bergan, Norway. She attended school in Etne, Norway, She came to the United States in Sept. 1928 and worked as a housekeeper. March 30, 1932 she married Clarence Olson at the St. Paul's Parsonage in Irwin. The couple worked the Beh farm near Manilla from 1932-1945. They then farmed east of Irwin from 1945-1968, when they moved to Irwin. He died Feb. 7, 1993. She was an active life long member of St Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin. She died Nov. 5, 1995 at Myrtue Memorial Hospital in Harlan at age 90 years and 10 days. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Clarence; three brothers, Haldor (Henry) Hamre, Hans Hamre and Torlew Hamre; one sister, Sina Loyning; four sisters-in-law, Adina Hamre, Tora Hamre, Alva Olson and Anna Olson; and eight brothers-in-law, Elmer Olson, Clifford Olson, Jessie Olson, Virgil Reid, Gilbert Opperman, Dyrl McCord. Edward Plambeck and A. Loyning. Survivors include one son, Henry (Anna Marie) Olson of Irwin; two grandsons; five sisters-in-law, Kari Hamre of Norway; Tina Reid, Lillie Opperman, Lucille McCord and Dorothy Plambeck all of Co. Bluffs and other relatives. Funeral services were held Nov. 8, 1995 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Irwin with Pastor Sidney Flack officiating. Honorary casket bearers were Mary Earith, Sheryl Holloway, Joann Edmondson, Garnet Axland, and all the ladies of the WELCA. Casket bearers were Paul Edmondson, Gailard Knudson, Beauford Haizlip, Harold Olson, Milo Nordby and Raynard Schmidt. Burial was in the Danway Cemetery, rural Shelby County.
