Punk was born on September 24, 1939 in Big Timber, Montana to Winifred Liebel Reidelbach and Joseph Reidelbach. He grew up hunting, fishing, and playing sports. He graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in 1957 and married Marian Hafele on July 12, 1964 at a small country church in Bloomfield, MT. Punk was born on September 24, 1939 in Big Timber, Montana to Winifred Liebel Reidelbach and Joseph Reidelbach. He grew up hunting, fishing, and playing sports. He graduated from Sweet Grass County High School in 1957 and married Marian Hafele on July 12, 1964 at a small country church in Bloomfield, MT. They made their home in Big Timber, purchasing the R&R Locker Plant in 1965. Punk loved cutting meat and served the surrounding communities for 34 years. His coffee pot was always on for good conversation at 3 p.m. Punk's lifelong passion was baseball, playing catcher from little league through high school. He also took great pleasure coaching teams and watching countless games on TV. His other hobbies included woodworking, fishing, and gardening. Nothing could spark a twinkle in his eye like a good fly-fishing stream, a heartfelt jitterbug dance (Punk twist), and, in later years, the laughter of his granddaughters. His family will remember his great sense of humor, often teasing those he knew and loved, and his kind heart for those in need. He loved Big Timber and never felt quite at home until he could see the Crazy Mountains. He is survived by his beloved wife Marian; children Scott Reidelbach and Beth Takas, Melville, MT, Cara and Brad Hicks of Littleton, CO; grandchildren Elizabeth and Amelia Hicks; sister Jan (Jerry) Hauge of Big Timber; brothers Robert (Margie) Reidelbach of Havre, MT and William Reidelbach of Polson, MT; along with 10 wonderful nieces and nephews and numerous extended family. A celebration of Punk's life was held at the Big Timber Lutheran Church on Thursday, June 28. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Pain Clinic at Yellowstone Surgery Center, 1144 N. 28th Street, Billings, MT 59101, with special thanks to Dr. Kert Christensen, DO, and his staff. Arrangements were by Stenberg Funeral Home.
