Mr. Schroeder was taken ill the Sunday prior to his death and rapidly grew worse. The cause of death was ascribed as pneumonia. Clarence Schroeder was born and reared in this community, where he spent his entire life. He was born October 28, 1907, and was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schroeder, early settlers in the vicinity. He was educated in the parochial and public schools and helped in the work of the farm and on arriving at man's estate followed the avocation of farming on his own account. He was united in marriage in June 1929, with Miss Loretta LaVelle, of Struble, where the wedding took place. He leaves to mourn his death, his wife and three children, Eugene, Mary Anne, and Robert James, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Schroeder, of Sioux City; a sister, Florence Schroeder, of Sioux City, and four brothers, Lawrence Schroeder and Leo, of Le Mars; Gregory, of Sioux City, and Vincent Schroeder, of Silver City, N.M. Two brothers, Arnold and Sylvester, preceded him in death. Mr. Schroeder was a progressive young farmer and highly esteemed by many acquaintances. He was a good son, a devoted husband and father, and his death in the prime of manhood is regretted in the community where he spent his life. The last rites will be held in St. Catherine's church at Oyens at 9:30 this morning, Rev. Father Henry Rolfes officiating, and interment made in St. Catherine's cemetery at Oyens.
