Description	:	Mr. Clarence W. Koele, age 91, of Hull, passed away Thursday, April 24, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. There was a memorial service on Saturday, April 26, at 2:00pm, at the First Christian Reformed Church in Hull. The Rev. David Ter Beest officiated. Koele, age 91, of Hull, passed away Thursday, April 24, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. Interment was prior to the service at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Clarence William was born November 15, 1911, on a farm near Hull, the son of Dick and Julia (Synhorst) Koele. He was raised in the Hull area, where he attended country schools. On March 8, 1935, he was united in marriage to Mabel Soodsma at Doon. Together they made their home on a farm outside of Hull. "Bub" enjoyed working the fields and caring for his livestock; he was especially fond of his horses. The couple retired into Hull in 1975. On December 3, 1993, Mabel passed away in Sioux City. In 1995, Clarence moved to the Homestead Cooperative in Hull, and in December of 2001, he moved to the Crown Pointe Assisted Living Facility in Sioux Center. Mr. Koele was a member of the First Christian Reformed Church, where he served on the church council. He was also a past board member of the Western Christian High School and the Hull Christian School. In earlier years, he praised his Lord by singing in quartets. He was known for his stories, and his hearty laugh will be remembered. Survivors include two sons, two daughters, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and a sister, Madeline Rens of Hull. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bert and Henry, and two sisters, Jennie Heiliger and Marie Douma.
