Description	:	Services will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Saturday for Clarence "Curly" Harper, 69, Rt. 4, Box 79, who died suddenly Wendesday at 10:36 p.m. at Davenport Osteopathic Hospital. A parish rosary will be led by the Knights of Columbus on Friday at 8 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home. Visitation will start Friday morning. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Harper was born Dec. 29, 1908, the son of Charles and Minnie Kasper Harper, in Bayfield. He married Evelyn King on June 21, 1933, in Muscatine. Affiliations included St. Mary's Church and Knights of Columbus. He was a life-long Lake Township farmer, retiring two years ago. Survivors included his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Charles W. Harper, Joseph W. Harper. and Thomas A. Harper, all of Muscatine, four daughters, Mrs. Serjio (Elizabeth) Casillas, Davenport, Mrs. Allan (Mary) Darting, St. Charles, Mo., Mrs. James (Barbara) Bockwoldt, San Antonio, Texas, and Mrs. Thomas (Dorothy) DeCoster, East Moline, Ill; and a brother, Herschel Harper of Muscatine. Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and one infant son. MUSCATINE JOURNAL - June 22, 1978 Services for Clarence (Curly) Harper, 69, were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Church where a funeral mass was celebrated by Rev. William O. Meyer. He was assisted by Rev. Martin B. Manning. Mrs. Lillian Freund was the organist. Altar boys were Greg Harper, Scott Vetter, Sergio Casillas, Jim Harper and Bill Harper. Deb Harper and Teresa Harper both read a prayer. Gift bearers were Pat Harper, Denise Darting, Diana Darting, Pam Harper, Lisa Casillas and Mike Harper. Pallbearers were John Conway, James B. King, Jerry Noll, John Danner, Mark Vetter and Curtis "Pete" Logel. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery under the direction of the Riley Funeral Home. Clarence Harper died June 21 in Davenport. In addition to other survivors, there are also 15 grandchildren. They were omitted from Thursday's paper.
