Read More	CHRISTIANCY CLARICE ADA—Clarice Ada Christiancy was born to Oscar Overhalser and Emma Fentiman Overhalser on April 6, 1899, at Liberty and passed away November 28, 1989, at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva, at the age of 90 years, 7 months and 22 days. She was one of eight children in the family. Clarice received her elementary education in a rural school near Ohiowa. She graduated from Ohiowa High School in 1916. She attended Nebraska normal School and taught elementary school in the Ohiowa area for two years. Clarice was married to Guy Christiancy of Ohiowa on January 8, 1919, and to them three children were born. After her marriage she and her husband farmed land near Bruning, until their retirement, they then moved to Geneva in 1968. Clarice’s hobbies included knitting and crocheting. She taught herself to knit always seeking “left handed” directions to improve her skills. She became a resident of Heritage of Geneva in September of 1987. She lived there until her recent hospitalization just prior to her death. Clarice was a member of the United Brethren Church of Strang until that church was dissolved. She attended activities at the Geneva Senior Citizens Center and enjoyed socializing, playing cards and bingo along with participating in crafts. Clarice was preceded in death by her husband, Guy; sisters, Rose Nielsen, Ruth Hughes, Genevieve (Wilma) Seymore and Geraldine Overhalser, and by one brother, Lester Overhalser. She is survived by her daughters, Mildred Leenerts of Bruning and Mrs. Bob (Marie) Lowe of Belton, Mo.; one son, Floyd Christiancy of Milford, two sisters, Cecil Ruhter of Aurora, Col., and Lillian Bales of Alliance, Ohio; by seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva on Friday, December 1, with the Rev. Brenda Barnes Jamieson officiating. Mrs. Norval Lomax accompanied Delwin V. Myers, who sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “In the Garden.” Pallbearers were great-grandsons, Anthony, Brian, and Eric Hummell, Chad, and Robert Lowe, and Noel Schmidt.
