Description	:	Clarinda Nixson, daughter of Sarah and Isaac Nixon, was born Sept. 27, 1841, in the state of Pennsylvania and departed this life Sept. 22, 1930, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Mantie Watson, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 25 days. At the age of six she came with her parents to Iowa and settled in Van Buren county where she spent a large part of her life. About the year 1861, she was united in marriage to Geo. A. Read More	Clarinda Nixson, daughter of Sarah and Isaac Nixon, was born Sept. 27, 1841, in the state of Pennsylvania and departed this life Sept. 22, 1930, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. Mantie Watson, at the age of 88 years, 11 months and 25 days. At the age of six she came with her parents to Iowa and settled in Van Buren county where she spent a large part of her life. About the year 1861, she was united in marriage to Geo. A. Junk, who became a soldier in the Civil war and died at Andersonville prison in Georgia. To this union was born one son, Leroy Junk, who passed away August 14, 1924. On October 6, 1876, she was united in marriage to A. J. Jacobs of Stockport, where they resided until Mr. Jacob's death April 26, 1906. She then came to Hillsboro, which has since been her home. The deceased at an early age, united with the Baptist church and has since been a true and devoted Christian. She was widely known in the community for her amiable disposition and was a willing giver to any worth cause. She, herself the last of a family of 14 children, leaves to mourn her departure four grandchildren, Mrs. Mantie Watson Of Hillsboro; Mrs. Edith Haas of Los Angeles, Calif.; Geo. Junk of Glendale, Calif.; and Mrs. Exie McQuay of Stirum, N.D.; nine great-grandchildren and six step-children, part of whom she helped to rear, W.R. Jacobs, J.J. Jacobs, Mrs. Annie Lane of Stockport; John Jacobs of Bladen , Neb.; O.H. Jacobs of Aurora, Neb.; Mrs. Ida Dunn, Detroit, Mich.; other relatives and a host of friends also remain. Funeral services were held from the Baptist church at Hillsboro with the pastor, C. E. Strong in charge. Mrs. H.D. Tade, Mrs. C.C. Watt, Dr. Craig Graves and Rex Carter sang "The City Four Square", and "Sweet Hour of Prayer." Rex Carter sang "The Last Mile of the Way." The pall bearers were Harry Hoaglin, C.C. Watts, Jesse Benn, Orr Earley, J.R. Page and Philip Blackford. Burial was made in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
