Read More	Source:Van Buren County Register Jan. 9, 1941, page 1 Clark Evans Succumbs Nonagenarian Spent Most of Life Within Few Miles of Birthplace; Funeral to Be Held Friday Clark Godown Evans, 91, died about 5:30 o’clock Tuesday afternoon at the home of his son, John Evans, in Milton, after suffering a cerebral hemorrhage Monday morning. He had been in fairly good health until Monday. Mr. Evans was born near Keosauqua and lived for 86 years not more than six miles from the home where he was born. About five years ago he moved to Milton to live with is son Sam, and went to live with his son John a few months ago. He was well known in central Van Buren county and enjoyed telling about events during his childhood at Pittsburg. His father, Philip Evans, was a carpenter, and the boy at an early age helped with the work. He enjoyed hunting, and was unusually successful. His wife, the former Miss Mary Watts, died in 1935. One son, Robert, also preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons, Sam and John of Milton and George of Fairfield, and a score or more of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at the Burnett funeral home in Keosauqua at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon by the Rev. A. M. Hadley of Milton. Nephews will serve as bearers and burial will be at the Pittsburg cemetery
