Mr. Claude Franklin Culler, 94, formerly of 5916 Jefferson Pike, died Friday morning, August 24, at the Reeder's Memorial Home, Boonsboro, where he had been a resident for the last year. He was born near Feagaville on March 5, 1890, a son of the late James Henry and Lavenia (Zimmerman) Culler. Mr. Culler was the husband of the late Marie (Hemp) Culler, who died in 1970. Mr. Culler, prior to his retirement, had farmed most of his life in the Feagaville area. He was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, a Past Master and life member of the Lynch Lodge 163 AF & AM, Enoch Royal Arch Masonry Chapter 23 of Frederick, charter member and Past Grand Tail of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Frederick Chapter 636 American Association of Retired persons. Surviving him is one son, Robert Lee Culler, of Feagaville; one sister, Mrs. Grace Hargett, of Frederick; three grandsons, Gordon Lee Culler, of Greenville, South Carolina; Robert Allen Culler and Donald Franklin Culler, both of Feagaville and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the Smith, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 East Church Street, Frederick, on Saturday, august 25, and Sunday, August 26, from 7-9 p.m. On Sunday, August 26, a Masonic Memorial Services will be conducted by the Lynch Lodge 163, AF & AM at 8 p.m. Om Monday, August 27, Mr. Culler will be taken to St. Luke's Lutheran Church at 10 a.m. to lie in state until the time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Edward E. Donald, pastor of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, will officiate. Interment will be in St. Luke's Lutheran Cemetery.
