Mr. Danker died early Sunday morning, March 30, 1952 from strangulation by suicide at his farm. He had not been in good health for some time. Claus Danker, Jr., was born in Schleswig Holstein, Germany April 1, 1891 the son of Claus and Amelia Danker. When a young man he came to America and the family settled on a farm south of Luzerne, later moving to the place southwest of Belle Plaine which for the past 39 years has been his home. On November 6, 1918, he was united in marriage to Miss Edith Share at Marengo, Iowa. , Immediately after their marriage they went to farming on the place that has since been their home. They had no children. In addition to the widow, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. C. K. Jackson and Mrs. Otis Wright, both of Luzerne, and two brothers, Rudolph Danker of Chelsea and William Danker of Blairstown. A sister, Mrs. Ed Backes, passed away several years ago, as did his parents. He Is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and other more distant relatives. Always interested in civic affairs, Mr. Danker served as a school director in his district for ten years and as township trustee of Jefferson township for three years. He was also a director in the Rural Fire company. Throughout his life Mr. Danker was a member of the Lutheran church and was one of the organizers of the First Lutheran church of Belle Plaine and took an active interest in its affairs He was an elder of the church for three years. The funeral service this afternoon was in charge of Rev. C. H. Schroeder of the Lutheran church in Victor. Burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. Pallbearers were six nephews: Lawrence Danker, Harold Jackson, Raymond Wright, Gerald and LeRoy Share and Lyle Danker.
