Prenger, a resident of the community for more than 40 years, were conducted Thursday morning, March 15, at St. Ludger Catholic church with the Rev. Paul Schneider officiating. Burial was in St. Ludger Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joseph Pruss, Willard Richling, Ray Fuchtman, Ray Demerath, Gilbert Ulrich and John Vogt Jr. Mr. Prenger died March 10 at Ludnberg Memorial Hospital at the age of 77. He had been suffering with heart trouble the past two months. Clem Prenger was born June 23, 1884, at Halbur, Ia. to August and Anna Prenger. He received his schooling at Halbur. He married Christina Koening at halbur on September 29, 1908. Ten children were born to them. One died in infancy. The Prengers observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1958. Surviving are his wife; five sons and four daughters, Lawrence of South Sioux City, Hilbert of Richland, Ia., Raymond of North Hollywood, Calif., Clem Jr. of San Jose, Calif., LaVena Hill of San Carlos, Calif., Mrs. Ray (Rose Lee) Charleston, Mrs. Joe (Evelyn)) Kulhanek and Gene of Fremont and Mrs. Joe (Viola) Dartman of Creighton; 22 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Rohlfes and Mrs. Mary Hinners of Halbur.
