He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kay; and nine brothers and sisters. Clement John Reidy was born Feb. 28, 1917, the son of Martin and Sadie Farrell Reidy. He lived on the Century Family Farm near Monti almost his entire life. He was united in marriage to Loretta McAlleer on Feb. 17, 1944, at Immaculate Conception Church, Cedar Rapids. Clement was a farmer and loved the land. He was also secretary of Monti Consolidated School District, a former director of East Buchanan Telephone Co., a Buchanan County assessor and an agent and director of Buchanan Mutual Insurance Co. He served as president of the board for many years, retiring in 1993. He was currently a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society. He was a lifelong member of St. Patrick's Church in Monti. Clement was a man of deep faith and loved his family. He enjoyed playing cards, gardening and yard work with Loretta, woodworking and making things for his wife, children and grandchildren.
