Description	:	Clifford Clarence Gillespie was born at Brewster, Wash., on February 25, 1908, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Gillespie. The young man attended the Brewster schools and graduated from high school here in 1927. He was employed intermittently by the Washington Water Power company, in whose service he met his tragic end. Read More	Clifford Clarence Gillespie was born at Brewster, Wash., on February 25, 1908, the son of Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Gillespie. The young man attended the Brewster schools and graduated from high school here in 1927. He was employed intermittently by the Washington Water Power company, in whose service he met his tragic end. Clifford was well liked and had a host of friends in Brewster and the surrounding county where he has spent practically the entire 25 years of his life. The popular young man was married December 15, 1931 to Miss Alice Waddell. Clifford was a descendant of one of the oldest pioneer families in North Central Washington. His grandfather, A. C. Gillespie, Sr., was among the first settlers in the Waterville country. A. C. Gillespie, Sr., and his brother, D. L. Gillespie, started the first store in the present town of Brewster. Clifford Gillespie has been prominent in the Odd Fellows for six years. He is a Past Grand and lately had the office of secretary. Clifford was also a member of the Encampment and Rebekah branches. The body was in charge of the Yarwood Undertaking Parlors at Okanogan. Services were by Rev. J. N. Pendleton at the Community Log Church, yesterday at 2 pm. The services were in official charge of the local Odd Fellow lodge. A large number of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs from Brewster and surrounding towns were present at the last rites. The large funeral service was read by Frank Graham of Okanogan and E. J. Lessard of Brewster. Interment was in the Locust Grove Cemetery were several relatives are buried. The pall bearers were the six brothers of Mr. Clifford Gillespie; Leonard, Raymond, Arthur, Lewis, Vernon and Lester Waddell. The floral offerings were profuse and the Log Church was taxed to the capacity and overflowing as many of those attending came from surrounding towns. The surviving near relatives are his widow, Mrs. Alice Gillespie, mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Gillespie, brother Albert A. and sister Mrs. Edna Magee.
