He was born Nov. 22, 1928, in Ottumwa to Amos and Neva Brewer Pherigo. He married Hazel P. Thompson July 16, 1948, in Ottumwa. She preceded him in death Dec. 5, 1992. Clifford worked 22 years at John Morrell and Co. and 18 years at the Bloomfield Foundry retiring in 1991.
