Description	:	Clifford Leroy Reed, son of Samuel C. and Julia Reed was born July 22, 1908, north of Green, Clay Center, Kan, and died at the Clay County Hospital Sept, 2, 1970 after a long illiness. He was married Jun 16, 1929 to Winona Hjelm and to this union two children were born. He had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas, since a young man. Read More	Clifford Leroy Reed, son of Samuel C. and Julia Reed was born July 22, 1908, north of Green, Clay Center, Kan, and died at the Clay County Hospital Sept, 2, 1970 after a long illiness. He was married Jun 16, 1929 to Winona Hjelm and to this union two children were born. He had been a member of the United Methodist Church in Clay Center, Kansas, since a young man. He attended grade and high school in Clay Center where he lived his life except for a few years spent in colorado. His profession was a carpenter, which he learned and practiced from the time he was 14 years of age. The parents, two brothers, CHarles V. and Henry Reed, and a sister, Elvina Benjamin, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife, Winona; his two children, Rolland Reed and wife Sandra, Clay Center and Alyce Jean Specht and husband David of Randolph, Six grandchildren, Nonie Marie, Edward, Kenneth, mary Beth and Joan Specht, and Randy Reed; two sisters-in-law, Mrs Charles ( Martha ) Reed of Hays, and Mrs. Henry ( Carrie ) Reed of Denver, Colo. neices and nephews. Memorial services were conducted br the Rev. Howard Von Schiltz at the United Methodist Church, Sept 5. The Rev. William Ritchey of of Winfield, sang two selections, "Beyond the Sunset" and "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by Mrs. James Henry at the organ. Pallbearers were six nephews of Mr. Reed Michael, Tim, and Terry Ryan, leonard Reed Lyle Dunn and Milton Morre. Burial was in Greenwood Cmetery in Clay Center.
