Interment was in the church cemetery. Born in Rehobeth, he was a son of the late Edgar F. and Sallie C. Tilghman Dryden. He retired in 1967 as sales manager for Ralston Purina, Pocomoke, after 28 years with the company. He was a former treasurer of the church for 30 years. Dryden was a charter member of the Pocomoke City Lions Club; a former board member of the Eastern Shore National Bank, a director of the Hartley Hall Nursing Home in Pocomoke City and was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary. His other memberships in Pocomoke included the Ruritan Club, Crescent Lodge 178, AF and AM, and Elks Lodge 1624. Additionally, he belonged to Boumi Shrine Temple in Baltimore, the Eastern Shore Shrine Club and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry. Surviving are his wife, Helen Mears Dryden; a son, Clifford M. Dryden Jr., Tappahannock, Va.; a sister, Beatrice Foxwell, Mt. Vernon; a brother, Wilson T. Dryden, Pocomoke City; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A son, William Frederick Dryden, Pocomoke City, died in 1969. Contributions may be made in the memory of the deceased to the Rehoboth Presbyterian Church, in care of Robert Hess, Marion Station, Md. 21838. Somerset Herald, February 3, 1988 pg.2
