Buckel Meets Death in Fall Last Thursday The dark hand of death fell suddenly on the home of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Buckel, who live a few miles northeast of Nashua, last Thursday morning when their son Clifford Mark met with an accident which resulted in his death a few hours later. The lad was working about the barn doing the morning chores and it is supposed he climbed up a couple steps to get a scraper with which to clean the barn and in doing so he slipped and fell, catching his chin over a block on the door post used to hood the barn doors shut, and his neck was broken. The first known of the accident was when a man who was painting the barn saw him fall from the door to the ground a distance of about three feet. He saw that the lad was badly hurt and ran to him, at the same time calling his father. The boy, who was already unconscious, was carried to the house and a physician hurriedly summoned who applied restoratives. He roused up somewhat after remedies were applied and later was taken with a spell of vomiting and at 12:30, about three hours after the accident, he passed away. Clifford was born September 2, 1906 and was 11 years, 7 months and 23 days old at the time of his death. He was an exceptionally bright and cheerful boy, the idol of his parents and other relatives, especially his grandfather, and was loved by all who knew him for his manly ways and a deep shadow of sorrow was cast over the neighborhood in which he lived by his untimely death. The heartfelt sympathy of all goes out to the bereaved parents and mourning relatives. He is survived by his parents, two brothers, William E. and Charles, three sisters, Gertrude, Marie and Beulah. Also his grandfather, A. C. Marks, his grandmother, Mrs. Nancy Dove, and his great grandmother, Mrs. Mary Ottman. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Rev. Woods of Horton officiating and interment was in the cemetery at Horton.
