Description	:	Clifford William McKee, 87, of Keokuk, formerly of Aplington, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Lexington Square, Keokuk. He was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Birmingham, son of Grant and Lillie Greenfield McKee. On Feb. 15, 1943, he married Lelah Hining in Amarillo, Texas. She died Sept. 19, 1991. In 1992 he married Lois Hagans Peevler. She died July 24, 1998. Mr. McKee graduated from Birmingham High School, Parsons College and Drake University. Read More	Clifford William McKee, 87, of Keokuk, formerly of Aplington, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, at Lexington Square, Keokuk. He was born Jan. 23, 1921, in Birmingham, son of Grant and Lillie Greenfield McKee. On Feb. 15, 1943, he married Lelah Hining in Amarillo, Texas. She died Sept. 19, 1991. In 1992 he married Lois Hagans Peevler. She died July 24, 1998. Mr. McKee graduated from Birmingham High School, Parsons College and Drake University. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving as a first lieutenant and was stationed as a medic in Europe. He was high school principal at Keosauqua and Leon schools, then became superintendent of schools at Hornick, Gladbrook, New London, and finally 21 years in Aplington, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Keokuk, and a former member of First Presbyterian Church, Aplington. Survived by: a son, Doug of Des Moines; two daughters, Carolyn (Bob) Fox of Cedar Rapids and Cindy (Vince) Brady of Oklahoma City, Okla.; two stepdaughters, Shirlee Laubersheimer of Keokuk and Patty Peevler; three stepsons, Gary (Donna) Peevler, Ed (Annette) Peevler and Jeff Peevler; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and seven stepgrandchildren. Preceded in death by: two brothers, Lester and Arthur; a sister, Ruth Canady; and a stepson, William Peevler. Graveside services: 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant View Cemetery, Aplington, followed by a fellowship at First Presbyterian Church, Aplington. Memorials: may be directed to Trinity United Methodist Church, Keokuk, and may be mailed to Vigen Memorial Home, 1328 Concert, Keokuk, IA 52632. Condolences may be left at www.vigenmemorialhome.com.
