Description	:	Jacobs Clinton Otto Jacobs, 85, Tucson, Ariz., died Aug. 19, 2007, in Tucson. He was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Holton, the son of Otto and Anna Jacobs. He attended elementary school at Maple Grove and high school in Holton, graduating in 1939. He later graduated from Kansas State University and received his doctorate degree from the University of Missouri. Mr. Jacobs served in the U.S. Navy as a flight instructor during World War II. Read More	Jacobs Clinton Otto Jacobs, 85, Tucson, Ariz., died Aug. 19, 2007, in Tucson. He was born Aug. 23, 1921, in Holton, the son of Otto and Anna Jacobs. He attended elementary school at Maple Grove and high school in Holton, graduating in 1939. He later graduated from Kansas State University and received his doctorate degree from the University of Missouri. Mr. Jacobs served in the U.S. Navy as a flight instructor during World War II. He later served on the KSU faculty for 18 years in the agricultural engineering department. After receiving his doctorate degree, he joined the faculty at the University of Arizona, where he taught for 19 years, retiring in 1987 as professor emeritus. He continued his service in the Naval Reserve and retired with the rank of Lieutenant Commander in 1972. He was married to Myra Jacobs for 62 years. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Edwin Jacobs and wife Peggy; three daughters, Kristen VanDenburgh and husband John, Karen Soupir and husband Jim, and Ellen Jacobs; a sister, Maxine Fuller; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Memorial services were held Aug. 25 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Tucson, Ariz. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Holton Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, 7650 N. Paseo del Norte, Tucson, AZ 85704; Interfaith Community Services, 2800 W. Ina Road, Tucson, AZ 85741; or Casa de la Luz Foundation, 400 W. Magee Road, Tucson, AZ 85704.
