He was the son of Alexander Mason and Esther E. in Morgan County, Ohio and was one of seven children, Lilli, Belle, Omer and Chloe, with his parents preceded him in death. He was the son of Alexander Mason and Esther E. in Morgan County, Ohio and was one of seven children, Lilli, Belle, Omer and Chloe, with his parents preceded him in death. His education and early manhood was in Ohio. He was married to Elodia Almedia Wehrman in Nora, Nebraska on February 12, 1920 and to this union one son was born, Mr. C. Pearl Devitt. The couple made their home in Bassett, Rock County, Nebraska for 28 years. His lifelong occupation was farming. In 1948 they bought a home for their retirement in Davenport and there his wife died in 1954. Afer April 30, 1954, he lived with his son and family in Lincoln. Two sisters, Mrs. May Lawson of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Mrs. Bertha Chadwick, Ft. Morgan, Colorado; the son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. C. Pearl Devitt, three grandsons, George, Steven and Michael of Lincoln, Nebraska survive. During the last years of his life he was given understanding love and care by his son's family.
