These are true of every life. Clyde Purdy's life was filled with the good and there also was some of the sad. Clyde Edward Leon Purdy was born on July 1, 1914 to Earl and Anna Purdy in Haigler, Nebraska. He completed his pilgrimage on January 16, 1994 at the home of his son Gary in North Platte, Nebraska. At ten years of age his parents moved from Haigler to Wauneta, Nebraska. Clyde received his education at the Haigler Public School. He married Beulah Rose Einspahr on September 29, 1934 in Oberlin, Kansas. To this union were born four children. One daughter, Marles Yvonne Rowley of Oberlin, KS; three sons, Gary Leon and his wife Dorene of North Platte, Ronald Eugene and his wife Sherie of Ogallala, and Jerry Lee and his wife Tina of Imperial. Clyde worked in the carpentry trade for several years with his father. In 1956 he was employed by the Chase County Road Department of Wauneta, from which he retired in 1976. The Purdys attended the Nazarene Church in Wauneta. Upon moving to the Imperial area they were visited by members of the Berean Church at which time a decision to accept Jesus Christ as Savior was made. They lived in the Imperial area until 1991 whereupon they moved to Ogallala. Clyde loved and enjoyed his family to the fullest measure. He was much loved in return. One high time of each year was having all the family together for Christmas Day. A standout event was the Missouri camping / fishing trip with many family members. Clyde thoroughly enjoyed fishing and camping. Bingo was another pass-time he enjoyed. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Guy, a sister, Maxine and a half brother, Dean. Clyde is survived by his wife, Beulah, his children, Marles, Gary, Ron and Jerry. Also by sixteen grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
