Read More	Akron News-Reporter June 1, 1967 ~ Clyde Ervin Mustain was born in Washington County on his parents' farm near Lone Star on March 10, 1939. His parents are Delbert Mustain and Ella Imhof Mustain of the Lone Star community. He went to his eternal reward on Friday, May 26, 1967, at the age of 28 years, 2 months and 16 days. Clyde was very active in church affairs and also active as a member of the Gideons International. While attending church in Yuma he met Carole Swingle Reimer. He was united to Carole on March 26, 1961 in Yuma, Colo. where they lived until September 1961. He then accepted employment with Highline Electric Association, moving to Sterling to be close to his work. There he faithfully performed his duties until the day of his home-going. He loved climbing and mechanical work which kept him busy most of the time. Survivors include his wife Carole, 2 children, Wanda Joyce and Arnold Leroy; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Mustain; 3 brothers, Willard, Jerry and Lawrence of Lone Star; 3 sisters, Alice McMurray of Toronto, Ontario, Canada and Fay and Connie of Lone Star; also his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Bertha Imhof of Yuma. He will be greatly missed by these and a host of relatives and friends. Clyde Mustain, 28, was electrocuted at shortly after 9 O'clock Friday morning, while working at the Bureau of Reclamation substation near the South Platte river at Sterling, Mustain, an employee of the Highline Electric Association, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Mustain of the Lone Star Community, and was born in that neighborhood. He had worked for Highline Electric at Sterling since 1961 and was scheduled to have quit his job on Saturday to move to Del Norte. His wife was in Del Norte at the time of the fatal accident. Mustain was engaged in maintenance work on oil switches at the sub-station, removing the switches from a steel rack, in order to service them. While doing this, he came in contact with a 7,200-volt line, which took his life. According to a company official, the line to the switches Mustain was working on was not de-energized, when one switch failed to open. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon, May 30, from the Burdett Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Harold Westlund of Sterling in Charge. Mrs. Bonnie Rhoades played the organ accompaniment as Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Egger sang, "Goon Night and Good Morning," and "When I Take My Vacation in Heaven." Pallbearers were Bill Busig Jr., Everett Crisp, Dennis Lambert, Jowain, Sherman, Roy Cullip and N. R. McKinley. Interment was in the Burdett Cemetery with Yeamans and Gordon in charge of arrangements.
