Description	:	Highland Recorder February 2, 1940 Word was received here last Thursday of the untimely death of Clyde Hiner, 55 at his home in Craigsville where he has been engaged in the milling business for about twenty years. He had been sick for a few days prior to his passing with influenza. Clyde was the son of the late John Letcher and Janie Williams Hiner and a native of Monterey, having spent his early life on East Main street. Clyde was the son of the late John Letcher and Janie Williams Hiner and a native of Monterey, having spent his early life on East Main street. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lena Demastus Hiner; two brothers, Connell Hiner, Houston, Dewey Hiner, Craigsville, Va; one sister, Mrs. J.P. Nash of Staunton. Mr. Hiner received his milling experience in Monterey being a member of the Monterey Milling Company for a number of years. He was well liked by his many friends here and held in highest regard by all. He was always noted for his kindness To those in need. He was a member of the Craigsville Methodist church, and a stockholder and director in the bank of Craigsville, Inc. Funeral services were held in Craigsville at 10 A.M. Sunday from the home, conducted by the Rev. T.M. Stevenson, of the Craigsville Presbyterian church. Burial followed in the Monterey cemetery, with the committal services in charge of the Rev. J.H. Light of the Monterey Methodist church.
