Description	:	CONWAY - Clyde W. "Pappy" Boyd, 84, of the New Home section of Horry County, died Friday, June 7, 2002, at Conway Hospital after an illness. He was born April 11, 1918, in Conway, a son of the late Needham and Ida Gause Boyd. He retired from the Army after 22 years, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was born April 11, 1918, in Conway, a son of the late Needham and Ida Gause Boyd. He retired from the Army after 22 years, serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was the widower of Frances Boyd, his first wife. Survivors include his wife, Lorene Cannon Boyd of Conway; three sons, David Boyd and his wife, Sylvia, of Charlotte, N.C., Dennis Boyd of Key West, Fla., and Mark Body of Conway; a brother, Wofford Boyd and his wife, Betty, of Georgetown; a sister, Thelma Boyd Cannon of Wilmington, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Matthew Boyd, Chris Boyd, Jeffrey Boyd, Simon Boyd, Michael Allen, Angie Woodard, Lisa James, Stephanie Brown and Kim Boyd; several great-grandchildren; a stepson, Johnny Boyd of Loris; three sisters-in-law, Ann Anderson and Merlin Cannon, both of Conway, and *Lois Troupe of Fair Bluff, N.C. He was predeceased by two sisters, Vera Boyd Stevens and Juanita Boyd Hilbourn; two brothers, Newsome Boyd and Leo Boyd; a stepson, Clifford Boyd; and a sister-in-law, Hilda Elvis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Conway chapel. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at New Home Baptist Church No. 1. The Revs. Roger Chestnut and Bill Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to New Home Baptist Church, 1685 Highway 139, Conway, SC 29526.
