Read More	Connie Marie Haba, the daughter of Hubert and Alma (Kathman) Schroer, was born on October 25, 1951 in Nelson, Nebraska. She is one of four children born to this marriage, sister Carol Alexander, brothers Lyle Schroer and Burt Schroer. She passed away on April 22, 2007, at the home of Harv and Alta Story in Kingston, Tennessee, at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 27 days. Connie grew up in a loving community on a farm filled with family values and was educated in St. Stephen's Elementary Catholic School, and graduated salutatorian from Lawrence High School in Lawrence, Nebraska and attended Marymount College in Salina, Kansas for one year. Connie lived in the communities of Lawrence, Nebraska, Stratton, Colorado, and Kingston, Tennessee. Connie obtained her Licensed Practical Nursing Diploma and License on June 17, 2004, from Tennessee Board of Regents affiliated with Roane State Community College at Harriman, Tennessee for the State of Tennessee. She worked as an LPN for 3 years at Baptist Health Care Center in Lenoir City, Tennessee where she had been employed since 2001. Connie was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church of Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was baptized in 1951 and Confirmed at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Lawrence, Nebraska. On February 24, 1973, she was united in marriage to Dean R. Haba at Saint Stephens Catholic Church. This union was blessed with four children: son Joe Haba, daughter Julie Haba, daughter Rene Guy, and son Randy Haba. Connie's passion was that of her children and the people she cared for. She worked hard, sacrificed much, gave her heart to others and loved even more. Connie's heart led her to become a nurse. She loved caring for her elder patients, which was evident, when many family members came up to her family while she was in the hospital and said just how much they loved her for taking such good care of their loved ones. Connie loved being involved in all aspects of her children's lives, and later on, that of her grandchildren. Connie had such a warm heart, and whenever possible, she would fill her life with memories made with her family. Connie loved the little things in life. She loved spending time with her grandchildren such as watching Colin and McKenzie play ball and Jeri Rose dance, or sitting on her porch watching Jakob and Taylor race around the porch on their tricycles or splash in the pool. Family was important to her and she devoted her time to them. Preceding her in death were her In-Laws, Rudy and Mildred Haba and niece, Jena Schroer. Connie led a beautiful, compassionate life. She is survived by her husband, Dean of Kingston, Tennessee; four children, son, Joe Haba and his wife Toni Haba and two children Colin and Mackenzie, daughter Julie Haba and her child Taylor, daughter Rene Guy and her husband John Guy and two children Jeri Rose and Jakob all of Kingston, Tennessee, and son Randy Haba and his wife Danielle of Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Her parents Hubert and Alma Schroer of Lawrence, Nebraska. Brother, Lyle Schroer his wife Donna and four children Melissa, Kimberly, Phillip, and Steven of Lawrence, Nebraska. Sister Carol Alexander and her husband Bill and three children Cassy, Angie, and Paul of Harvard, Nebraska. Brother, Burt Schroer and his wife Judy and four children Ryan, Michael, Daniel and Kevin of Lawrence, Nebraska. Brother-in-Law Lonnie Haba and his wife Marilyn and 9 children Dave, Chris, Shawn, Jamie, Sara, Mark, Darren, Marissa, and Michelle of Glenvil, Nebraska. Sister-in-Law Myra Kubicek and her husband Elmer and 3 children Kathy, Karen, and Connie Sue of Lincoln, Nebraska along with a host of other relatives and friends Mass of Christian Burial was held on Thursday, April 26, 2007 at 10:30 AM from the St. Stephen's Catholic Church in rural Lawrence, Nebraska with Father Loras Grell officiating. Rosary Services were held on Wednesday at 7:30 PM from the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lawrence, Nebraska. Music was congregational hymns "The Lord Is My Shepherd," "Amazing Grace," "You Are Mine" and "Be Not Afraid," with Carolyn Kohmetscher as song leader and Sheri Buescher as organist. Lector was Lyle Schroer, Acolyte was Walt Buescher and Altar Servers were Steven and Michael Schroer and personal messages from the children read by Jerry Guy. Pallbearers were Don Hubl, Gene Hubl, Joe Haba, Randy Haba, John Guy, Ryan Schroer, Paul Alexander, and Phillip Schroer. Interment was in the St. Stephen's Cemetery at Lawrence, Nebraska. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska was in charge of the arrangements.
