Read More	Conrad Rokahr Called by Death Conrad Rokahr, for 41 years a resident of Knox county, passed away at the Orchard hospital in that city on last Sunday, following a two weeks' illness. Mr. Rokahr was one of our respected citizens and friends were grieved to learn of his passing. Conrad Rokahr was born in Genigson, Hanover, Germany May 25, 1859 and died at Orchard, Nebr. August 7, 1932, aged 73 years, two months and 13 days. Mr. Rokahr received his schooling in Germany and learned the blacksmithing trade. He came to the United States in 1887, when 28 years of age, settling at Sterling, Nebr., where he followed his trade. On Oct. 23, 1889 he was married to Miss Anna Boslau at Sterling. Three children were born to them, all of whom with the widow survive. In 1891 the family came to Knox county, buying land 16 miles northwest of Creighton. They lived there until February 1919, when they moved to their present home in Creighton. Ailing for some time, his condition was not considered serious until a few weeks ago, when he was taken to the hospital at Orchard and his trouble diagnosed as cancer of the lungs and his life ended there Sunday at 2:10 p.m. surrounded by his family, with the exception of one son, Henry, who lives at Batesland, S.D. Surviving are his wife, Anna, two sons, Fritz of Creighton and Henry of Batesland, S.D., one daughter, Mrs. Mabel Hoffart of Plainview and eight grandchildren. Mr. Rokahr was always a kind and loving husband and father and a good neighbor. Mr. Rokahr was considered square and upright in all his dealings and commanded the respect of his every acquaintance. For nearly 30 years he farmed west of Creighton. He not only witnessed the growth of the agricultural resources of this section of the county, but was a potent factor in bringing about the same and well merited his success and high standing. Funeral services were held from the home Wednesday morning at 10:30 and at Zion's Lutheran church at 11:00, the Rev. George Obermeyer having charge of the services. Many friends of the family and of the deceased were present at the last services, which gave mute evidence of their esteem for the departed. The News joins with the many friends of the Rokahr family in extending condolences to those who mourn the loss of a dear husband and father.
