Honorary pallbearers were Pete Thomassen, Ray Reed, Joe Jacot, Al Wiegert, Art Von Seggern and Ted Kinnison. Fritz Carl Rokahr was born at Venus Sept. 14, 1894, the son of Conrad and Anna Rokahr. He attended rural school in the Venus Community. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in 1933. He was chairman of St. Paul's congregation at the time of his death. He attended the School of Agriculture at the University of Nebraska and graduated with the class of 1915. He served in the U.S. Army with the 355th Infantry from 1917 to 1919. On March 14, 1923 he was united in marriage to Bernice Levy at Zion Lutheran at Creighton. To this union was born two sons. Their entire married life was spent on a farm west of Creighton and he was active in farming until the time of his death. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1973. He was a member of the original REA board and was chairman of the board until his resignation in the spring of 1976. He worked for the ASC, retiring at the age of 70 and he was a board member of the Farmers Union. He was member of the District 59 school board for many years and also served on the election board. He is survived by his widow; two sons, Frederick of Randolph and Norman of Page; a sister, Mrs. Mabel Hoffart of Plainview; a foster daughter, Mrs. Lois Rashof of Pasen, Wash.; 12 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
