The following obituary was read at the services: Constantine "Tine" Sowles was born Feb. 10, 1874, at Bedford, Iowa in Taylor County. He was the son of Thomas M. and Mary E. Sowles. He came to Nebraska with his parents in the year 1886. His father helped build the Missouri Pacific Railroad through Superior. He lived in Prosser, Neb., for a time coming to reside permanently in Superior in the spring of 1888. On Oct. 28, 1896, he was united in marriage to Etna Irene Pomeroy. To this union four children were born, Raymond, Hazel, Norman and Carl. For many years Mr. Sowles worked for Henningsen's in Superior, and later for Armour's until his retirement. For the past two months he has been living at the Belden Rest Home in Superior. He died Jan. 2, 1959. He was nearing his 85th birthday. He was preceded in death by his wife, Etna, who died May 26, 1944, one son, Raymond Orville, who died in infancy, two brothers, Ulysses and Roy, and two sisters, Elizabeth and Lidda. He is survived by two sons, Norman of Denver, Colo., and Carl of Portland, Ore., and daughter, Mrs. Hazek Dixon of Portland, Ore., two brothers, Charley of Terre Haute, Ind., and Fred of Superior; one sister, Mrs. Ella Farris of Denver, Colo.; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
