Description	:	Mrs. M.H. Ballew, a lifetime resident of Chase County, died early this morning in her home. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in the Brown-Bennett Funeral Home. They will be conducted by the Rev. Robert B. Craig, pastor of the United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Clements Cemetery. Mrs. Ballew was the former Cora E. Watson, daughter of William and Permelia Ann Minor Watson. She was born Oct. 6th, 1887, on a farm southwest of Cottonwood Falls, and married on Sept. 9th, 1908, in Cottonwood Falls. Burial will be in the Clements Cemetery. Mrs. Ballew was the former Cora E. Watson, daughter of William and Permelia Ann Minor Watson. She was born Oct. 6th, 1887, on a farm southwest of Cottonwood Falls, and married on Sept. 9th, 1908, in Cottonwood Falls. Before she moved to Cottonwood Falls in 1951, she and her family had lived on farms in the Clements, Cedar Point and Elmdale communities, and in Strong City. Mrs. Ballew was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by one son, Samuel, one daughter, Edna, three brothers and two sisters. She is survived by her husband, of the home; two sons, Alfred B., of Hays, and Wayne, of 832 Lawrence St., Emporia; two daughters, Mrs. Charles L. (Leila) Gillespie, Cottonwood Falls, and Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Ford, LaMesa, Calif.; one sister, Mrs. Arrilla Fox, Wichita, and three grandchildren. (Emporia Gazette October 2, 1968))
