CORA ARBOGAST Mrs. Cora Arbogast, for thirty-five years a resident of this community, passed away Sunday after an illness of several months, and after having been bedfast for several weeks. Cora M. Arbogast, daughter of George and Mary Dille, was born at La Grange, Indiana on June 27 1872 and passed away at the home of her daughter in Silver Creek, Nebraska on Sunday, May 10, 1936 at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 17 days. With her parents she moved to Rising City, Nebr. in 1874, and on April 4, 1888 she was united in marriage to Douglas Arbogast. To this union three sons and two daughters were born, all of whom are living. They are Stewart Arbogast, of Burley, Idaho; George Arbogast of Los Angeles, California; Millie Hutchison, of Silver Creek; Gladys Gerber of Fremont, and Harold Arbogast of Burley, Idaho. All except Harold were here to attend the funeral. With her husband she moved to their farm home in Polk county, two miles south of Silver Creek, on March 1, 1901 and resided on the farm until after her husband's death on March 21, 1930 when she moved into Silver Creek. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge of Silver Creek, and in May, 1930 she became a member of the Methodist Church of Silver Creek and until her illness had been a loyal worker. She leaves to mourn her departure, her five children, two brothers, Harvey Burgess of Rising City, and Omar Burgess of Baker, Oregon, one step-sister, Mrs. Ardela Bowman of Rising City, ten grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives, neighbors and friends. To say the least of her, she was a kind and loving mother, a good neighbor and a friend to every one she met, and all during her many weeks of sickness she never lost that cheerful disposition which will ever remain a cherished memory in the minds of her children, and her many friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the M.E. Church in Silver Creek, and were conducted by Rev. Taylor. Honorary pall bearers were J.J. Carson, E.L. Ives, Anthony Schott, W.J. Benson, John Kula and J.P. Nielsen. Active pall bearers were Bruce Pickett, Roy Frizzell, Clyde Cannon, Guss Blaser, Walter Koehler and Harry Sanders. Interment was at the side of her husband in the Silver Creek cemetery. Among the relatives and friends from a distance who were here to attend the funeral were F.G. Selden and wife, C.B. Barker and wife, Bernice Wade, Oscar Zollar and wife, Henry Minick, Mrs. J.D. Deavers, Mrs. Adelle Bowman and Harvey Burgess and family, all of Rising City; Mr. and Mrs. Francis Donnely, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Holmes and Mrs. Myrtle Sanders of Lincoln; Geneva Laudenslager of Wahoo; Arndt Chelburg of Norfolk; Mrs. Lena Arbogast of Grand Island; Mrs. Nellie Robinson of Beatrice; Joe Lucas and wife of Central City, and Allan Arbogast of Fremont.
