Description	:	July 1, 2002 - Carroll Times - Mass of the Christian burial for Cordellia Steffes of Carroll was held this morning, Monday, July 1, 2002, at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. Mrs. Steffes, 90, died Thursday, June 27, at Carroll Health Center, her home the last seven years. Father Timothy Schott presided at the Mass. Gift bearers were granddaughters. Lectors were Amy Sue Daniel and Kent Steffes. Mass servers were Mike Kirsch and Matt Hoffman. Eucharistic ministers were Leona Frazier, Margaret Lilla and Kathie Henkenius. Lectors were Amy Sue Daniel and Kent Steffes. Mass servers were Mike Kirsch and Matt Hoffman. Eucharistic ministers were Leona Frazier, Margaret Lilla and Kathie Henkenius. Casket bearers were grandsons David Hoffman, Kory Steffes, Jeff Daniel, Larry Frazier, Bruce Steffes, Jerry Fischer and Joey Steffes. Grandsons also served as honorary casket bearers. Burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton. Twit Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Born June 17, 1912, in Sac County, she was a daughter of James and Theresa (Schulte) O'Tool. She attended rural schools in the Maple River, Breda, Lake City, and Auburn areas. Her first marriage was to Earl Daniel in 1931. She married Frank Steffes in 1942 at Auburn. She was a member of Sacred Heart and St. Lawrence parishes and she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing with embroidery of pillow cases, needlework, bingo and various activities at the Health Center. Survivors include seven children and their spouses; James and Sharon Daniel of Carroll, Elmer and Pat Steffes of Spencer and Clovis, N.M., Millie and Norbert Hoffman of Carroll, Leona and Eddie Frazier of Vail, Blane and Colleen Steffes of Templeton, Diana and Bob Fischer of Fairfield and Alden Steffes; 31 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law: Julitta O'Tool of Auburn and Dorothy O'Tool of Scranton; and her special friend, Nina Berger. Mrs. Steffes was preceded in death by her husbands: Earl Daniel in 1935 and Frank Steffes in 1982; two children: James and Mary Ann Daniel; three grandchildren: Daryl, Steve and Kyle Steffes; and five siblings: Leonard O'Tool, Elizabeth Hill, Lawrence O'Tool, James O'Tool and Laurellia Haubrich.
