After Tempka passed, he married Jennie J. Koop. Obit Cornelius Naber, 80, longtime Kamrar resident, died at 10:10 Saturday evening [August 20, 1949], at his home in Kamrar. He had been in poor health the past year. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at the Methodist church in Kamrar, preceded by a brief service at the home. The Rev. August Cramer will officiate and burial will be made on the family lot in the Presbyterian cemetery east of Kamrar. Foster's funeral home is in charge. Cornelius Naber, son of Gerit and Grace Naber, was born October 20, 1868, in Freeport, Ill. He was a small boy when he moved with his parents to Iowa, locating on a farm in Grundy county. In 1883 they moved to Hamilton county where they made their home on a farm northeast of Kamrar. On Nov. 27, 1889, he was united in marriage to Temka [Tempka] Van Langen. Mr. and Mrs. Naber started housekeeping on a farm northeast of Kamrar, and resided there until 1924, when they retired from farming and moved into Kamrar to make their home. Mrs. Naber died there Dec. 5, 1925. He was also preceded in death by five children who died in infancy; his parents, three sisters and four brothers. On March 20, 1929, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Jennie Luppes and they have resided at Kamrar since. Mr. Naber is survived by his wife, three sons and four daughters; Gerit Naber of Iowa Falls, William Naber and Oltman Naber of Webster City, Mrs. Ernest (Grace) Vandeventer of Gassville, Ark., Mrs. J. N. (Lena) Peterson of Fort Dodge, Mrs. Ben P. (Ollie) Klaver of Kamrar, and Mrs. O. F. (Anna) Janes of Alden. There are 24 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; one brother, G. G. Naber of Applington, Iowa. Also surviving are two step-sons; Harme P. Luppes of Kamrar, and Johnny K. Luppes of Jewell, Iowa, also 7 step grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Mr. Naber was a member of the Presbyterian church of Kamrar. He was a kind and generous husband and father; his main interests in life were his church, his home and his family. He will not only be missed by his immediate family but also by his many friends.
