Description	:	Cornelius Van Riper, 80, of 422 4th Ave. S. E., Aberdeen, died on Tuesday, afternoon, March 12, 1963 at St. Luke's Hospital. He was a retired farmer. Services were held at 2:00 p. m., Friday, at the First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Robert Douglass officiating. Burial was in the Groton cemetery. Mrs. Michael Sanders sang two solos with Mrs. John Evens as organist. Ushers were E. J. League and Giles Anderson. Honorary pallbearers were Fred McCormick, Bath; Clarence Craig, and A. J. Mr. Van Riper was born Spt. 22, 1882, on a farm near Groton where he grew to manhood. On Oct. 1, 1902, he married Jennie T. Koch at Hecla and they established their home on a farm near Groton. In 1946 they retired and moved to Aberdeen. Mrs. Van Riper preceded him in death in 1949. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include two sons, Floyd, of Aberdeen, and Cornelius Jr., of Groton; five daughters, Mrs. Mildred Ulrich, Mrs. John (Doris) Hoffer and Mrs. George (Clarabel) Daschel, all of Aberdeen; Mrs. Walter (Vesta) Nack, Groton, and Mrs. Walter (Helen) Leise, Belle Plain, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. William (Dora) ennert, Aberdeen; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, five brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
