"TESS" VAN SCHEPEN Mr. Creston Van Schepen, age 66, of Hull, passed away on Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at the Sioux Center Community Hospital. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, April 20, at the Hope Christian Reformed Church in Hull. Interment will be at the Hope Cemetery in Hull. Creston John, who was known as "Tess", was born on July 29, 1939, at Hull, the son of Fred and Minnie (Hubers) Van Schepen. He was raised at Hull, where he graduated from Western Christian High School. On September 30, 1960, he married Betty Agnes Van Leeuwen at Hospers. For the first ten years of their marriage, they lived in California, where he manufactured orchard equipment. They then returned to Hull, where they have since made their home. He partnered with his father in Van's Implement, east of Hull, and later became a truck driver. He first operated his own truck and then drove for Te Slaa Trucking and Vander Kooi Freight, both in Hull. He was also a salesman at Northwest Implement in Orange City. Mr. Van Schepen was a member of the Hope Christian Reformed Church in Hull. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he collected toy tractors. Survivors include his wife of 45 years; three children, Curtis, Cathy and Craig; eleven grandsons; two great-grandsons; his mother; two sisters, Janice; and Marlys; and two brothers, Bruce; and Tim. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bob De Jong.
