A total of 10 documents were submitted to the court over the years. An inventory of Samuel Batstow's estate was taken on August 20, 1822 and submitted to the Plainfield Probate District Court. He was" late of Canterbury." The distribution of the estate was not settled until Dec. 3, 1827. In the distribution pages his two daughters Orra (Barstow) Bulkley and Susan Barstow are mentioned. Orra received land and/or property valued at $77 and Susan's at $152.41. Sons- Spalding at $277.41, Benjamin at $498.94, Elisha at $527.41 and John $327.41. Son, Curtis, who died in 1826, the year before the estate was settled, was mentioned in a description of land being given to Benjamin and to a land boundary "belonging to the heirs of Curtis Barstow...." One child, Simeon Barstow, was not mentioned so most likely had died and did not have heirs. Curtis Barstow shares the same headstone with his daughter, Eunice Park Barstow. He died in 1826 and she died in 1834.
