Huibregtse, daughter of Henry and Minnie Huibregtse, was born at Oostburg, Wisconsin, March 17, 1887 and passed from this life at 11 o’clock A.M., Monday, March 31, 1941 at the age of fifty-four years and fourteen days at Sheldon, Iowa. She moved to Iowa with her parents over forty years ago, the family settling at Hull. Here she attended the public schools and later was a student at Morningside College at Sioux City. Before her marriage she was employed in the Hull telephone office and for a number of years taught in the rural schools near Hull. On November 2, 1909, she was united in marriage to Mr. George Lensink Jr. of Hull. To this union were born two children, Leonard and Minerva (Mrs. William Howe) both of Sheldon. Until 1914 the family lived at Hull, moving then to Vermillion, South Dakota, where they resided one year. In 1915, Mr. and Mrs. Lensink moved to Sheldon where they have since resided. Mrs. Lensink was a member of the Congregational Church of Sheldon and for many years served in the capacity of superintendent of the primary department of the Sunday School. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and the Past Noble Grand Association, serving as secretary of the latter organization until just a short while before her death. Mrs. Lensink had been in poor health for some time, her condition becoming serious shortly before Christmas. She was taken to Iowa City for treatment, remaining about a month. Upon her return to Sheldon everything possible was done to aid her recovery but to no avail. Left to mourn her passing are her husband, George Lensink; a son, Leonard and a daughter, Mrs. William Howe; her mother, Mrs. Minnie Huibregtse of Sheldon; four sisters: Delia (Mrs. John De Groot) of Doon, Lena (Mrs. Jacob Moss) of Hull, Jennie (Mrs. John Lammers) of Spearfish, South Dakota, and Miss Minnie Huibregtse, a missionary in India; and three brothers: John A. Huibregtse of Matlock, Henry W. Huibregtse of Hull and Evertt H. Huibregtse of Monticelio, Iowa. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 3, at the Congregational Church in Sheldon. Interment was in Hope Cemetery at Hull.
